This role supports multiple brands manufacturing products in the architectural and commercial lighting markets.

This role ensures that every order released to production is fully defined, correctly configured, and supported by complete and accurate bills of materials (BOMs), pick lists, and related documentation.

This position sits within the Operations team and serves as a critical control point between Sales, Engineering, Materials Planning, and Production.

Key Responsibilities

1. Configuration to Manufacturing Translation

  • Translate configured products and customer requirements into:
    • Complete and accurate multi-level BOMs
    • Pick lists and material requirements
    • Clear manufacturing instructions
  • Ensure no ambiguity, missing components, or interpretation is required downstream
2. Drawing & Specification Interpretation

  • Review and interpret:
    • Shop drawings
    • Submittals
    • Customer specifications
  • Convert design intent into structured, executable manufacturing data
3. Configuration Logic & Product Structure

  • Support development and maintenance of:

  • Hold and escalate orders that do not meet standards
5. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Partner with:
    • Sales to ensure complete and structured inputs
    • Engineering to clarify product definitions and constraints
    • Materials Planning & Purchasing to align on material requirements and availability
  • Resolve issues upstream before impacting production
6. Continuous Improvement

  • Identify recurring sources of:
    • Order errors
    • BOM inaccuracies
    • Configuration gaps
  • Drive improvements in:

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred

  • Experience in configurable or engineer-to-order products
  • Familiarity with lighting, electrical, or mechanical assemblies
  • Exposure to CPQ or product configuration systems
  • CAD familiarity (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
Core Competencies

  • Systems Thinking: Able to define and apply rules, not just solve one-off problems
  • Detail Orientation: High accuracy and low tolerance for ambiguity
  • Structured Problem Solving: Identifies root causes and builds repeatable solutions
