- Reduce rework, ambiguity, and production delays caused by poor inputs
Throughput & Efficiency Improvement
- Identify and eliminate bottlenecks across assembly and production workflows
- Improve labor efficiency through line balancing, layout optimization, and practical process changes
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives with a focus on real, measurable outcomes
Production Support & Problem Solving
- Act as the primary engineering leader supporting daily production needs
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues in real time and implement sustainable fixes
- Work closely with operators and supervisors to maintain flow and output
Equipment & Tooling
- Specify, develop, and improve production equipment, fixtures, and tooling
- Improve reliability and uptime of key equipment
- Support practical levels of automation where it adds clear value
Product Definition & Manufacturing Readiness
- Improve the clarity and consistency of BOMs, drawings, and work instructions
- Ensure smooth handoff from product design and planning into production
- Support gradual improvement toward more structured and repeatable product definitions
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop manufacturing engineering and technical support resources
- Set expectations for rigor, accountability, and execution
- Build a culture of ownership and continuous improvement on the factory floor
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or operations
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a production environment
- Strong background in electromechanical products or assemblies
- Experience in high-mix, low-to-mid volume manufacturing environments
- Proven ability to improve throughput, reduce defects, and stabilize production processes
Technical Capabilities
Working knowledge of and experience with:
- Mechanical assemblies and production processes
- Electrical systems and wiring assemblies
- BOM structures and manufacturing documentation
- ERP/MRP systems and production workflows
- Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and technical documentation
What We’re Looking For
- Hands-on leader who is comfortable working on the factory floor daily
- Strong problem solver who brings structure to complex, ambiguous environments
- Practical mindset with a bias toward action and execution
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, materials, and production teams
- Focus on delivering results, not just analysis
Success in This Role
Within the first 6–12 months, this role should deliver:
- More consistent and predictable production output
- Reduced rework and production errors
- Clear, standardized work instructions across key processes
- Improved flow of information into production (BOMs, drawings, job readiness)
