About the Job
Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer (Mid-Career).
3LED Group | Design Team.

Role Overview:
3LED Group is seeking a well-rounded electro-mechanical design engineer to support product development and execution across its portfolio of lighting brands (including Xico, FlexGrid, Prolume, and others). This is a hands-on, cross-functional role focused on translating product concepts into fully defined, production-ready solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop electro-mechanical designs for lighting systems, integrating electrical, mechanical, and controls elements.
  • Produce complete technical documentation including shop drawings, installation instructions, layouts, and wiring diagrams.
  • Support product development from concept through release, ensuring designs are robust, manufacturable, and scalable.
  • Define lighting controls approaches and assist in specification and system integration.
  • Work closely with manufacturing and factory teams to ensure designs are complete, accurate, and actionable.
  • Collaborate with sales on technical layouts, quoting support, and occasional customer/agent discussions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of design standards, documentation quality, and handoff processes.

Qualifications:
  • 5–10 years of experience in electro-mechanical design, preferably in lighting, electronics, or related systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of both electrical design (low-voltage systems, wiring, controls) and mechanical design (assemblies, materials, fabrication methods).
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred) and technical documentation.
  • Practical understanding of manufacturing processes and design for production.
  • Clear communicator with the ability to operate across engineering, operations, and commercial teams.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable owning deliverables end-to-end.

Profile:
  • Motivated, collaborative, and pragmatic.
  • Comfortable operating in a hands-on, fast-moving environment.
  • Interested in building real products and seeing them through to production.

This role sits within the design team but operates at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, and commercial execution. It is well-suited for someone who wants broad exposure and tangible impact across the product lifecycle.
